Igor Vadimovich Fomin (born April 1, 1968, Murmansk) is a member of the Federation Council, a representative of the executive body of the government of the Leningrad Region [1] . He oversees tourism in the upper house of the Russian parliament [2] . Member of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy [3] .

Biography
Born on April 1, 1968 in Murmansk [3] . In 1985 he graduated from secondary school No. 8 of the city of Tikhvin, Leningrad Region [4]
In 1990, he graduated from the economics department of the Leningrad State University [5] , and he completed his undergraduate practice in Germany [6] , at Humboldt University. He studied at the graduate school of the Leningrad Institute of Textile and Light Industry. SM Kirov at the Department of Economics and Organization [6] .
In 1991-1992 he passed a one-year scientific internship in Germany through the German Service for Scientific Exchange [4] .
In 1993, together with German partners, he founded the Komatso knitting factory in the city of Tikhvin and was the director since its foundation [5] .
In 2009, he won the election of deputies, and later the head of the Tikhvin region [5] , ran for the United Russia party.
Since September 3, 2012 he has been authorized by the Senator of the Council of the Federation; is a member of the Committee on Social Policy, oversees the tourism and sanatorium-resort industry [4] .
Cooperates with the relevant commissions and committees in the field of tourism of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, All-Russian Public Organization of Small and Medium-Sized Business "Support of Russia", All-Russian Public Organization "Business Russia" industry associations in the field of tourism, such as the Russian Union of Travel Industry, the Association of Tour Operators, the National Resort Association, the Association The association of tour operators in the field of outbound tourism "Turpomosch", the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers .

In 2018 he was awarded the Gratitude of the Chairman of the Council of the Federation for many years of hard work, a great contribution to the development of parliamentarism.
In 2018, he was awarded the Medal of the Order for Services to the Fatherland, II degree.
