He started playing chess at the age of five in Michigan. He won the 2011 Arkansas Championship at the age of 8. Later that same year, he finished second in the U-10 World Cup. Due to early successes, he was admitted to the program to increase the potential of chess prodigies in the USA, under the direction of Garry Kasparov . After a couple of months, he was awarded the title of national master. [one]
