Białystok Voivodeship ( Polish. Wojewodztwo białostockie , Belorussian. Białystock Vayavodztva ) is an administrative-territorial unit of the Second Polish Republic , created on August 14, 1921 from the counties of the former Grodno , Lomza and Suwalk provinces of the Russian Empire . It was disbanded in 1939 on the basis of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact , according to which these lands became part of the BSSR (with the exception of the Suwalk district).
