Svavitsky, Nikolay Andreevich

Nikolai Andreevich Svavitsky (September 11, 1879 - January 26, 1936) is a Russian and Soviet statistician [1] .

Biography

Graduate of Moscow University, student of N. A. Kablukov .

He participated in territorial statistical surveys of the Vladimir and Kharkiv provinces. In 1908-1910 he served in the Moscow City Government. In 1914, he was approved by an associate professor at the Department of Statistics at Moscow University, since 1919 - Professor of Moscow State University, Head of the Statistical Office. Actively participated in the organization of the statistical department of the Faculty of Social Sciences [1] .

In 1920 he moved to the Central Statistical Office of the RSFSR . Member of the executive committee of statistical conventions, in 1925-1926 - her secretary; organized congresses and meetings of statisticians.

He wrote a number of scientific papers on statistics of labor, consumption, and history of local statistics. The fundamental work of Svavitsky (together with his wife Z. M. Tverdova-Svavitsky) - “Zemsky household censuses of 1880-1913. County results ", published in 1926.
