Khabibul Alam

Habibul Alam ( Beng. হাবিবুল আলম , born May 10, 1950 , Dhaka ) is a hero of the war of liberation in Bangladesh , a prominent figure in the World Organization of the Scout Movement .

Short Biography

After graduating from college (Dhaka Residential Model College), he entered Dhaka University . As a student, he joined the war of liberation in 1971, commanded the Second Sector and Detachment "K". He led the first group of 17 people who, in May 1971, opposed units of the Pakistani army. For active participation and courage, he was awarded the Bir Pratik Medal of Courage by the government. He wrote a book about these days “Braveheart”, which has survived several editions [1] .

He is currently a successful businessman and an active participant in the scout movement. He was a member of the World Committee of Scouts and vice chairman of the World Scout Movement (2002-2008), as well as vice president and chairman of the International Committee of Bangladesh Scouts [2] . Member of the Board of the World Scout Fund [3] . He was named after a college in the city of Kalia (city, Bangladesh) (Habibul Alam Bir Pratik College) [4] .
