Biography
He graduated from the Krakow Academy of Music ( 1962 ). From 1959 he worked in the famous Krakow cabaret “ Pivnitsa under the Rams ”, where he established the creative community that brought him wide popularity with the singer Eva Demarchyk . Ultimate and Demarchyk were among the founders of the genre, which in Poland is called “sung poetry” ( Polish poezja piewana ) and implies the decisive role of the poetic text and emphasized humble chamber music: Boleslav Lesmyan , Krzysztof Kamil Bachinsky , Miron Byaloshevsky and others.
He worked as an author of music for performances: among the performances accompanied by his music were Hamlet , Midsummer Night's Dream , The Cherry Orchard , Master and Margarita and other masterpieces of world drama and literature. Since 1967 , he has been working as a film composer, collaborating with such directors as Andrzej Wajda , Tadeusz Konwicki , Anthony Krause and others; among the most famous films in which the music of the End is played are “Landscape after the Battle” ( 1970 ) and “Demons” ( 1988 , according to Dostoevsky ) Vaida, “The Valley of Issa” ( 1982 ) Konwicki [1] , “ Unburied ” Martha Mesaros .
Among the late works of the End, the Polish Litany stands out on the poems of Jan Twardowski .
