Biography
Born on March 5, 1980 in Paris [1] , but spent his childhood in Plurien-les-Morles , Brittany. In childhood, he sang in the choir with his brother and sister. Later he mastered playing the piano (under the influence of his elder brother, who became a classical pianist) and saxophone, including in the conservatories of Brest and Saint-Brieu , but soon gave up his career as a classical musician, independently learned to play the guitar and began to write songs [2] .
After two years of training in preparatory classes in Rennes (Lyceum Saint Vincent) (during which he performed in bars and took part in several festivals) Renan entered the Toulouse Business School. As part of a training project, he recorded two of his songs on disk, directing the proceeds from his sale to a humanitarian association that helps schools in Madagascar .
After two years of study in Toulouse, he moved to Paris and decided to devote himself exclusively to a musical career. Starting with a series of concerts in the small Théâtre Le Méry, he soon became acquainted with the chansonnier Reno (whose daughter would later become Renan's wife) and Benabard , who became fans and patrons of the young musician.
In 2005, Renan Luce signed with Barclay. Soon he took part in several major music festivals and performed at the opening act at Benabar's concert in the Zenith Hall . In 2006, the first album of the musician Repenti (“Repentant”) was released, which brought Renan success. In 2009, Luce released his second album, Le Clan des miros , soaring to the top of the French charts and becoming double platinum. The third album of the musician D'une tonne à un tout petit poids was released in 2014 [3] [4] .
