Geno Conservation Area ( Persian منطقه حفاظت شده گنو ) - is located 30 kilometers from the city of Bandar Abbas (the center of the province of Hormozgan ). It has a favorable mountainous climate, being one of the 9 biosphere reserves of Iran .

Content
History
Since ancient times, the future territory of the reserve was the place of out-of-town trips of residents of Bandar Abbas, who escaped from the heat in the summer months. In 1972, this territory became a conservation area, and since 1975 - a national park. At the moment, the Geno conservation area is one of the most popular places in Iran for domestic and international ecotourism.
Ecosystem and landscape
The Geno Conservation Area is located on an area of 27,500 hectares at an altitude of 50–2374 meters in the north of Bandar Abbas and is rich in a variety of flora and fauna, mountains and gorges [1] .
On the territory of Geno grow grapes, apple trees, apricot, pomegranate, figs, tangerine, sour lemon, orange, mango and dates. Flora Geno is represented by 360 species of plants. Various herbivores and carnivores live in the reserve, such as, for example, leopards, hyenas, wolves, jackals, rams and sheep, goats and gazelles [2] .
Among the known heights of the conservation zone are: Nasiri - 2349 meters, Estiri - 1546 meters, Sarpakhn - 2175 meters, Doberar - 2272 meters, Bazgyard - 2233 meters, Zendane-Zard - 2309 meters, Iran Broadcasting Company Complex - 2330 meters, Serjutun - 2254 meters, Kekhnouj - 1813 meters, Goudbuni - 1895 meters [3] .
A popular resort is the thermal spring of Geno .
Population
In the reserve zone there are 87 villages with a total population of 40,400 people [4] .
The highway runs through the reserve Bender-Abbas- Shiraz .
