Geography

The village is located on the banks of the Sinyukha River, 14 km south from the center of the village of Nerl and 39 km south from the district center of Teykovo .

History

In written old documents, the village of Bulgakovo was first mentioned in 1547 in a letter from Princess Anna Stefanovna Glinsky (maternal grandmother of Ivan IV the Terrible) and her son, Prince Mikhail Vasilyevich Glinsky. Princess Anna presented the village of Bulgakovo to the Suzdal Pokrovsky Convent. (see S. Kashtanov. From the history of the Russian medieval source. Acts of the X-XVI centuries. M., Science, 1996. - Page 172). This letter of merit is kept in the State Archives of the Vladimir Region - Fund 575 of the Suzdal Pokrovsky Monastery, inventory 1, file 34, sheet 36-36 about. Also, the village of Bulgakovo was mentioned in the "granted non-judicial certificate of the Tsar and Grand Duke Mikhail Feodorovich to the Suzdal Pokrovsky girl’s monastery " of 1623. From this letter it can be seen that Bulgakovo belonged to the monastery back in 1606, and the monastery had a letter of merit from Tsar Vasily Ivanovich Shuisky . The name Bulgakov village gives reason to believe that the church in the village existed at the beginning of the XVII century. In 1831, instead of the former wooden one, the lower floor of the new stone church was built, the upper floor was built in 1848, the bell tower of the church is also stone. There were two thrones in the church: in the upper (cold) floor - in honor of the Transfiguration of the Lord, in the lower (warm) in honor of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos. In 1893, the parish consisted of a village (41 yards) and villages of Lychevo, Rokatyevo, Zhukovo, Novoselka. There were 108 yards in the parish, 320 men and 325 women. A literacy school existed in the village [2] .

At the end of the XIX - beginning of the XX centuries, the village was part of the Kiberginsky volost of the Suzdal district of the Vladimir province .

Since 1929, the village was part of the Zernilovsky village council of the Teykovsky district , since 1954 - as part of the Sokatovsky village council [3] , since 2005 - as part of the Nerl city settlement .
