Arbor of the winds

Arbor of Winds is located in the Gurzuf valley on the edge of a rocky cliff, at an altitude of 1450 meters. The top on which it is located is called Shagan-Kaya (in translation from the Crimean Tatar - falcon rock). The gazebo was built in 1956. It is a stone colonnade under the dome. The diameter of the colonnade is about 4 meters, the height of the gazebo is 6 meters. A mosaic depicting a wind rose is laid out on the floor, hence the name of the arbor. In this place, strong winds often blow, the speed of which reaches 40 m per second. Located in the reserve. Painted in white, Arbor of winds in clear weather is visible from Gurzuf. To the west of the "gazebo of the winds" in honor of the 10th anniversary of the independence of Ukraine, a large wooden cross is installed with a height of about 6 meters. Amazingly beautiful views of Ayu-Dag , Gurzuf , Partenit , the southern slope of the mountains, as well as the Black Sea are opened from the “Arbor of the Winds”. In clear weather, the sea can be seen from here for about 150 kilometers. You can get to the "Wind Bower" on the old Romanovsky highway from the Gurzuf saddle pass, located one and a half kilometers east of it. From Gurzuf you can also get to the gazebo by a shorter route through the Partizansky village, but in this case you cannot do without knowledgeable guides.
