The State Prize of the Uzbek SSR named after Khamza is an annual award awarded since 1964 by the Committee on State Prizes of the Uzbek SSR in the field of literature, art and architecture under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Uzbek SSR. It bears the name of Khamz Khakimzadeh Niyazi , an Uzbek poet, playwright, public figure, national poet of the Uzbek SSR (1926), the founder of Uzbek Soviet literature.

Awarded annually to the day of the formation of the Uzbek SSR :
- for the most talented poetic and stage works of literature and art that have received public recognition, are a major contribution to the culture of Uzbekistan, distinguished by a high professional level, relevance and depth in the artistic study of the history and modern reality of Uzbekistan (formerly the Uzbek SSR), the active role of the workers of the republic in construction humane society;
- for architectural structures of great aesthetic value, organically combining the achievements of world, Soviet architecture and the traditions of Uzbek national architecture;
- for bright talented work in the field of journalism ;
- for literary and critical studies that are important in studying the problems of aesthetics , theory and practice of artistic creation;
- for highly professional translations of world, Russian classical and Soviet fiction of all genres into the Uzbek language and original Uzbek literature into the languages of the world.
State prizes of the Uzbek SSR named after Khamza in the field of literature, art and architecture were awarded once every three years in the amount of three prizes of 5,000 rubles each. Prizes for work performed by a team of authors were distributed equally.
Persons awarded the State Prize of the Uzbek SSR named after Khamza were awarded a diploma and badges. The honorary badge of the Khamza Uzbek SSR State Prize laureate was worn on the right side of the chest after the honorary badges of the Navoi Uzbek SSR State Prize laureates.
The diploma and honorary badge of the deceased laureate of the State Prize of the Uzbek SSR named after Khamza (or awarded posthumously) was left or handed over to his family as a memory.
