She studied at the Lyceum of her hometown, the director of which was Gabriela Mistral . In 1926 she moved to Santiago and began to practice vocals with Consuelo Guzman, wife of Juan Guzman Kruchaga . In 1932, she made her debut on the concert stage, performing the part of Isolda in the episode of "Tristan and Isolda" by Richard Wagner (conducted by Armando Carvajal, who became her husband many years later). The Wagnerian repertoire continued to occupy a prominent place in the work of Hauser, but the next year she paid tribute to the Italian repertoire, performing on the stage of the Municipal Theater of Santiago in the leading roles of Tosca, Bohemia, Othello and Aida. In the same year, Hauser first went on a foreign tour to Peru. In the future, she toured extensively throughout Latin America and the European countries of the socialist camp, including in Moscow , Kiev , Odessa and Stalingrad (tour of 1955).
Hauser's closest friend, her fellow practitioner at Guzman’s studies, was Matilda Urrutia, who became the wife of Pablo Neruda : it was thanks to Hauser that Pablo and Matilda met for the first time [1] .
