He graduated from the Milan Conservatory (1888) as a cellist, a student of Giuseppe Magrini , and also studied composition with Alfredo Catalani and harmony with Michele Saladino . He studied with Giacomo Puccini , participated in the performance of his final essay. From the age of 16, he played in the La Scala theater orchestra, then gave concerts and as a soloist, taught at the Padua Institute of Music , and since 1897 at the Conservatory of San Pietro a Mayella in Naples. In 1898, Dzhardy's first opera was staged in Naples, conducted by the author. From 1899, he performed as a member of the string quartet Angelo Ferney . In 1900, the cycle of etudes for cello, composed by Jarda, was awarded a medal at the World Exhibition in Paris .
In 1905 he moved to Chile, initially as a conductor of the Italian opera company. He founded his own piano trio, in 1908 received the prize of the Higher Council for the Arts for the Romantic Overture, in 1910 the premiere of the opera Dzhardy “Lord Byron” was held at the Santiago Municipal Theater. He taught at the National Conservatory, first, the theory of music and solfeggio, then vocals and choir, in 1919-1928. director of the conservatory. In 1933, he married his former student, singer Amanda Krusat, and then retired.
The composer's legacy of Jarda includes 514 numbered opuses, a significant part of them are vocal works on poems by both Italian and Chilean poets, including Gabriela Mistral .
