Reentovich, Julius Markovich

Julius Markovich Reentovich ( October 30 ( November 12 ) 1914 , Tambov - September 16, 1982 , Moscow ) - Soviet violinist. The son and student of Mark Reentovich , brother of Boris Reentovich . Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1958), Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1964), People's Artist of the RSFSR (1976).

Biography

He graduated from the Tambov School of Music (1931) in the class of his father and the Moscow Conservatory (1935) in the class of Abram Yampolsky , who studied with Reentovich Sr. from Leopold Auer . At the same time since 1931 he played in the Bolshoi Theater Orchestra , since 1952 his accompanist.

It is best known as the founder (1956) and the permanent leader of the Bolshoi Theater Violin Ensemble - a unique collective that has performed extensively around the world and was highly praised by experts: in particular, David Oistrakh noted that “all its participants, and especially the ensemble leader, honored artist of the Arts of the RSFSR Julius Reentovich, a talented musician with exceptional artistic taste, are high-class violinists for whom, it seems, there are no technical or sound difficulties ” [1] . At the same time, Arthur Shtilman , who played with Reentovich both in the orchestra and in the ensemble, recalled that the ensemble work of Reentovich was due to his own weak technique, masked by the unified sound of the ensemble [2] .

The first wife is violinist Galina Barinova , the second wife is ballerina Natalia Spassovskaya.

He was buried at Kuntsevsky cemetery .
