Villa "Sphinx" - the estate, a monument of architecture of local importance in Yevpatoria . The two-story facade faces Duvanovskaya street, opposite the former sanatorium N. D Losev, now the Primorsky sanatorium. The villa was built in 1911, today belongs to the law firm [1] .
Architecture
The name of the architect has no documentary sources, but the construction of the villa is attributed to P. Ya. Seferov [2] . The house is the architectural dominant of Duvanovskaya street.
Facade - liberated order. The corner is beveled and decorated in the form of a bay window. It ends with a tetrahedral roof cone. Pilasters stand out. The second floor forms an Ionian order.
The villa got its name because of three caryatids - sphinxes . The central one supports the pediment with acroteria , the rest end with parapets . Frieze architrave decorated with palmettes . Below are Doric columns . Inside the villa there is a terrace. It is covered and also decorated with columns [3] .
The building is asymmetric in its volume and plan, made in the style of " neo-Greek " and "un-stylized modern." The facade on the street Sanatorium - one-story. The space between the villa and the adjacent house is fenced with a metal fence.
