Presnov, Victor Alekseevich

Born December 2, 1917 in Anzhero-Sudzhensk, Kemerovo region . After graduating from the 9th grade of high school in 1935 , he entered the Novosibirsk Civil Engineering Institute. A year later, transferred to Tomsk State University. V.V. Kuybyshev , who graduated in 1941 with a degree in physics , optics and spectroscopy .

From August to December 1941 , he worked as a physics teacher in s. Rebrikh of Altai Territory , and since December of that year - a researcher at the All-Union Institute of Experimental Medicine . He fought on the fronts of World War II ( 1942 - 1945 ).

Returning to Tomsk University , he graduated from graduate school , until May 1950 he worked as a researcher at the Siberian Physical-Technical Institute ( 1950 ).

After defending his doctoral dissertation in September 1950 , he worked as an assistant professor , and after defending his doctoral dissertation on the subject of “I slept in physics,” since October 1961 , he was a professor and head of the Department of Semiconductor Physics of Dielectrics of Tomsk University .

He was director, scientific director of the branch research institute of semiconductor devices of the USSR Ministry of Electronic Industry, which he founded ( 1964 - 1968 ) ^[1] .

From September 1968 until the last days of his life, the activities of V. A. Presnov were connected with Odessa State University. I.I. Mechnikov (now - Odessa I.I. Mechnikov National University ). He worked as a professor in the Department of Experimental Physics ( 1969 ), and later headed the new Department of Physical Electronics organized by him (now the Department of Solid State Physics and Solid State Electronics).

He was engaged in the study of the properties of glass and electrovacuum ceramics, especially to study the nature of mechanically durable vacuum-tight connection of glass and ceramic with metal. The results of these studies formed the basis of the doctoral dissertation and several monographs, which became the first in the world practice to generalize the work on the study of the nature of mechanically durable vacuum-tight connection of such heterogeneous materials. Using them in practice allowed us to solve the problem of creating cermet microwave tubes of the microwave range. In 1954 , under the leadership of V. A. Presnov, a semiconductor laboratory was created, on the basis of which the first in Siberia and one of the first in the USSR problem laboratory and the Department of Semiconductor Physics of Tomsk State University were founded, where problems of a comprehensive study of complex semiconductors were developed. Extensive studies have been carried out on the processes of synthesis and crystallization , electrical properties, surface and contact phenomena in semiconductor materials. The practical result of this work was the solution of specific problems of modern microelectronics, the development of new types of semiconductor devices, the creation of more advanced methods for protecting the surface of semiconductor devices and circuits.

Professor V. A. Presnov raised a large group of researchers in the field of semiconductor physics and solid-state electronics. Under his leadership, at the Department of Solid State Physics and Solid-State Electronics, I. I. Mechnikov ONU , an industry research laboratory of the physical foundations of electronic technology (FOET) was created, under the supervision of Art. n al. A.P. Kanchukovsky. The laboratory staff consisted of more than 200 employees. The leaders of the research groups were mainly teachers of the department. The laboratory conducted extensive research on the processes of synthesis and crystallization, electrical properties, surface and contact phenomena in semiconductor materials.

For the first time in the USSR , the electrical and optical properties of semiconductor artificial diamonds and ceramics were synthesized and investigated. For his efforts to create microwave semiconductor devices, he was awarded the title of Laureate of the State Prize of the Ukrainian SSR ( 1985 ).

Under his leadership, defended more than 60 candidate dissertations, 12 of his students ( A. Mamontov ) became doctors of science. During his scientific career V. A. Presnov wrote 6 books, 340 scientific articles in journals and other publications, received 56 copyright certificates for inventions.
