Biography
Grigory Dragan was born on January 15, 1949 in the village of Perelety, Baltsky District, Odessa Region . He graduated from Pereletsky secondary school No. 1 ( 1965 ). He worked at the factory. January uprising (since 1965 ), laboratory assistant at the Research Institute of Physics of Odessa State University (now - I. I. Mechnikov Odessa National University ) (since 1967 ).
In 1972 he graduated from the evening department of the Faculty of Physics of Odessa State University. I.I. Mechnikov . He worked as a junior ( 1972 - 1974 ), a senior researcher in the research part of the institute ( 1974 - 1976 ), and in 1976 he moved to the research sector of the Department of Thermophysics.
In 1980 - defended his thesis on a special topic.
Since 1981 - Assistant of the Department of Thermophysics, since 1982 - Associate Professor, and since 2003 - as a professor in the Department of Thermophysics, Odessa National University .
Since 1981 - member of the kinetics section in the scientific work of the USSR Academy of Sciences on low-temperature plasma physics.
In 1990, he was elected as a deputy of the Odessa Regional and City Council of People's Deputies of the 21st convocation, served as deputy chairman of the commission on ecology and chairman of the commission on drinking water, member of the Odessa Regional Environmental Council, since 1991 - chairman of the Odessa Environmental Department of the UFMZ, since 2002 - freelance consultant of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on science and education.
In 2004, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic: “ Thermodynamics and electrodynamics of interphase interactions in the plasma of the combustion products of metallized compositions, solid and gas fuels”.
Scientific activity
The basis of the scientific activity of G. Dragan was the study of torches of various fuel mixtures, starting with the flame of ordinary natural gas and ending with the plasma formations of complex metallized compositions that were used in space technology. To carry out these studies, experimental stands and special devices were created, spectral and probe methods for measuring thermophysical and electrophysical characteristics at elevated pressures and forvacuum conditions were developed . Some experimental results are recognized as inventions (received 4 copyright certificates), others have found their implementation in special equipment, the national economy and the educational process.
In the course of experimental studies, the effect of gas phase ionization on the dispersed composition of the condensed phase of metallized fuels and a shift in the ionization equilibrium in the gas phase of the plasma of combustion products depending on the dispersed and phase composition of the smoke particles, as well as on their surface state, was revealed. The theoretical justification of the experimental results made it possible to identify the relationship between the degree of plasma ionization and its space charge, which arises as a result of interfacial interaction on the particle surface.
To describe the coordinate dependence of the electrostatic potential in the vicinity of charged particles, the concept of a generalized plasma potential is introduced as the reference level of the potential in a plasma with a condensed dispersed phase. Fundamental concepts such as the plasma potential and the nonequilibrium parameter are used to describe the effects of a shift in ionization equilibrium with respect to a quasi-neutral gas plasma, the long-range effects of charged smoke particles in a plasma, spatial improvement of fractions in the plasma volume and agglomeration , and the effect of ionization on nucleation .
In the study of methods for introducing easily ionizing impurities into the plasma of combustion products in order to regulate its electrophysical characteristics, a pulsation mode of evaporation of a drop of saline was found and a criterion for the transition of the evaporation process to a pulsation mode was derived.
