Yasuda (Zaibatsu)

Yasuda ( 安 田 財閥 Yasuda zaibatsu ) is a zaibatsu that existed in Japan before the end of World War II. The financial conglomerate was one of the four largest zaibatsu in Imperial Japan and controlled by the Yasuda clan . After surrender in 1945, it was disbanded by the occupation administration.

In 1921, the founder of the zaibatsu was killed after he refused to donate to the nationalists. Things went to his son Zennosuke Yasude. By 1928, Yasuda was the third conglomerate in the country in terms of total capital, second only to the Mitsui and Mitsubishi groups. In 1942, during the war, the head of the zaibatsu Hajime Yasuda (1907-1991) announced its consolidation, which was in line with the aspirations of the Japanese government.
