In the building where there is a museum now, there used to be exhibitions of furniture and home decor items. Officially, the museum was opened to the public by the wife of Shah Farah Pahlavi in October 1977. A closed for repairs a year later, in 1978. In the period from 1976 to 1979, he led the museum Aidin Agadashlu. At the end of 1979, after redecoration and expansion of the exhibition area, the museum was again opened to visitors. But in 1984, due to internal problems, the museum was closed and opened again a year later. However, after opening the museum did not last long and was closed for the third time in the same year. And finally, on February 3, 2001, after reconstruction, it was open to the public for the fourth time.
