Description
The Tirana River originates from streams flowing from Mount Daiti . Flowing to the southwest, it passes through the northern part of the city of Tirana and then turns to the northwest. The largest tributary of Tirana is the Lana River. Tirana flows into the Ishmi River . The river is very polluted by urban wastewater, the lack of service infrastructure allowed waste to flow into the river, which reduces the quality of drinking water and led to the disappearance of some species of animals and fish [1] . Nitrate pollution is 13 times higher than the norms of EU countries [2] .
