Biography

Shamil Gabib-bey oglu was born in 1898 in the family of Gabib-bey Makhmudbekov, a wonderful teacher of the Baku 3-grade Russian-Tatar school. He graduated from the Baku Real College. He studied at the Kiev Polytechnic Institute. From October 1916 to February 1917, he was a student organization of federalist socialists.

In 1918-1919, having stopped his studies at the Kiev Polytechnic Institute, he worked there as a clerk, then assistant. beg. the police. In 1920 he returned to Azerbaijan, was elected chairman of the Shusha Revolutionary Committee, the district executive committee. In the years 1922-1923. worked in Nakhichevan .

In 1924 - instructor, head of the political school. In the years 1925-1930. by decision of the Central Committee of the Communist Party (b) of Azerbaijan - Chairman of the Board of Azkino In 1930 - deputy. Director of the Baku Agricultural Institute, participated in the collectivization of agriculture in the cotton district.

In 1931 he was sent to Moscow to the Institute of the Red Professor, where he studied for 3 months and, by decision of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks, was sent to Gorky. Since 1933, he was a student of the Gorky Institute of Marxism-Leninism and worked as a teacher of history of the CPSU (B.) At the Higher Communist Agricultural School and other educational institutions. He supervised the courses before retraining propagandists.

Arrested on March 23, 1936. On July 28, 1936 he was expelled from party members "for hiding his service with whites (in the Hetman’s police in Kiev), for serving in the Mussavat government in Baku (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), for pushing Trotsky’s theories in teaching party history." He was also accused of “being one of the leaders of the anti-Soviet terrorist organization that existed in the Sormovsk pedagogical school” [1] .

On October 16, 1936, the Military College of the USSR Supreme Court sentenced him to death.

By a decision of the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR on April 30, 1957, the verdict of the military collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR against Sh. G. Makhmudbekov was canceled and the case was dismissed for lack of corpus delicti.
