Biathlon competitions at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang were held from February 10 to 23 at the Alpenzia Biathlon Center , located in the resort of Alpenzia .
As part of the competition, as in previous Olympic Games , 11 sets of awards were awarded.
Frenchman Martin Fourcade won two personal races and brought the total number of Olympic gold medals for his career to 5. This is an absolute record among all French athletes in the history of both the winter and summer Olympic games.
Daria Domracheva from Belarus became the first woman in history to have won more than three Olympic gold medals in biathlon during her career.

Qualification
In total, the IOC quota for participation in biathlon competitions contains 230 seats for athletes (115 men and 115 women). The main quotas for countries are determined on the basis of the Cup of Nations according to the results of the 2016/2017 season . The remaining licenses are distributed according to the IBU qualifying points list, compiled at the end of the 6th stage of the 2017/2018 biathlon world cup in Antholz . [1] .
