Trinity Church (Chernetsov)

The temple in modern Chernetsov was asked to be built back in 1877, when the landowner Semyon Danilovich Sokolov, on behalf of the peasant community of the village of Chernetsovsky, sent a petition to the Don Diocese "on permission to build a church" (in this village). According to a report written by Kamensky Dean I. Pashinsky, this request was not first granted. Nevertheless, four years later, in 1882, the Trinity Church was erected with the money of parishioners. In the inventory it was noted that the building was stone with a bell tower (the second floor of the bell tower was wooden), the roof was made of wood and covered with sheets of iron ^[1] . In October 1882, the staff of the church was approved by the Holy Synod : priest, psalm-reader, prosphora. From December 3, 1885, a parish school began its work ^[2] .

During the Soviet era, the bell tower of the temple was destroyed, the domes were thrown, and the temple was used for a long time as a storage of grain. Opposite the temple, the Chernetsovsky rural house of culture was erected, whose windows today face the Holy Trinity Church ^[3] .
