Creation History
January 14, 2017 in the database for the protection of copyright of musical works of Harry Fox Agency a song was recorded entitled “Young & In Love” [6] , which stated that the song was intended for Del Rey [2] ; the performer was also listed in the authors of the track [2] . On January 28, 2017, a fan of the performer met her on the streets of Los Angeles, asking about the composition, to which Del Rey replied: “You will like it. I am very excited ” [7] .
On February 16, 2017, several excerpts of the song were published on the social network Instagram , but were later deleted due to copyright infringement [5] . The next day, on the streets of Los Angeles, as part of a promotional campaign, there were posters depicting Del Rey, footage from the music video for the song, and the inscription “Love” [5] . On the same day, the song was fully published on the Internet, before the official release [4] . On February 18, “Love” was released as the first single on Interscope and Polydor , in support of Del Rey's fifth studio album, Lust for Life. [3] Later that day, the song’s audio-video was uploaded to the Del Rey YouTube channel [8] . Two days later, on February 20, the premiere of the music video for the composition took place [5] . At the end of March of the same year, a filter for photos or videos appeared in the Snapchat mobile app as part of the track’s promotional campaign [9] .
In an interview with Del Rey, which the singer Courtney Love took from her, Lana said: “Love doesn’t sound retro, but I wanted to return to a more majestic, slower sound. In the past 16 months, there has been a lot of madness in the United States and London when I was there. I just felt that I wanted to write a composition that would allow me to feel more positive during the performance ” [10] .

Also, in the publication the song was called "Best New Track" [12] . Erica Russell from PopCrush stated that “Lana returned to her dark cinematic pop roots to create a magnificent mid-tempo ode to teenagers' hopes and young love” [13] . Jake Wiswanaft from V Magazine he also noted that the song is a “billowing ballad that resembles the sound of the Del Rey Born to Die album” [14] . In the Australian edition of FasterLouder, the song was given a positive review, saying: “The song is full of ambient glam pop madness and it is quite possible that Del Rey has the best song” [15] . Danielle Craps from Rolling Stone, an American magazine, called the song “a hymn.” [16] Frank Guang of Vulture called the song “Love” “surprisingly good” [17] .

Recognition
In June 2017, the American edition of Billboard published a list of “50 Best Songs of the First Half of 2017”, placing the song “Love” at 46 positions, commenting: “Being young and in love ... with this track. The crazy single Del Rey from her album Lust for Life is predominantly typical of Lana. Cinematic orchestral sound and reckless nostalgic energy. The vocal of the performer is magnificent under the magnificent instrumentation of the song ” [23] . Bradley Stern from PopCrush magazine called the song “Love” one of the best in the first half of 2017, writing: ““ Love “is a twisted psycho-pop track that gives hope <...> When Lana Del Rey says it's time to be happy means it is. “Sad Girl” is very famous for her gloomy songs and odes of violence, but she changed her sound with efforts in the studio. “Love”, being inspired by world events, sounds like Lana's classic cinematic songs, but the lyrics are an assurance of support to her young fans. She assures: “It is enough to be young and in love” ” [24] .
Music video
The music video was shot from late June to early July 2016 [25] . On February 20, 2017, Del Rey broadcast live on her Instagram account, where she announced the release of the music video on the same day. The director was Rich Lee [5] . The music video begins with a black and white frame, where Del Rey is shown speaking to couples and fans in love in a small room. After, the picture becomes colored and the back of the hall, where the singer performs, opens, and a view of the starry sky appears [18] ; a car with young lovers flies past the sun [18] . Water scenes where a group of young people are boating on an unknown planet were filmed on July 9, 2016 on Lake Pyramid , Nevada [18] ; filming also took place in the desert of the Throne of the Pinnacles , California [18] . Filming of young people took place separately from the filming of the performer [18] . At the end of the video, Del Rey and her musical group perform a song on the surface of the moon, after which a solar eclipse is shown [18] .
Daniel Craps from Rolling Stone described the music video as “dreamy,” adding: “The video alternates with black and white and exhausted colors, Del Rey sings the song“ Love ”, comparing her performance with“ young and in love ”people [26] . Kelsey Jay White from The AV Club , an online publication, wrote that “Love” “sends us into space”, also calling the clip “an amazing sci-fi video” [27] . Luke Morgan Britton of the British NME magazine wrote that “The video contains a dramatic performance by Del Rey in space” [28] . Consequence of Sound journalist Ben Kai called the music video “romantic” [29] . Pitchfork magazine's Noah Yoo called the video “a magnificent cosmic vintage love story” [30] .
