Fofanov, Vladimir Iosifovich

Born in 1922 in a peasant family in the village of Chupino. He graduated from high school in the village Maslyanino. After the start of World War II he volunteered for the Red Army. In 1943 he graduated from the Irkutsk Aviation Technical School, after which he served as a mechanic as part of the 907th Fighter Regiment. He ended the war in the vicinity of Berlin. After demobilization in 1948, he returned to his homeland, where he worked as a surveyor and brigadier on the collective farm “Barricades”. In 1953 he graduated from the production department of the Novosibirsk Agricultural Institute with a degree in scientific agronomist. He worked as the chief agronomist of the Maslyaninskaya MTS (1953-1957), the Bolshe-Izyraksky MTS, the district land department and from 1958 to 1960 - the chairman of the kolkhoz named for the XXth CPSU Congress of the Iskitimsky district.

From March 1961 - chief agronomist of the state farm "Maslyaninsky" of the Maslyaninsky district. He was engaged in selection work, introduced complex chemicalization on the fields of the state farm. Introduced in the production of wheat varieties "Maslyaninskaya" and "Novosibirsk-81". Thanks to his activities, the grain yield increased significantly from 9 to 32.2 centners per hectare. By the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 8, 1971, for outstanding achievements in the development of agricultural production and the fulfillment of the five-year plan for selling agricultural products to the state, he was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Serp and Molot gold medal.

Repeatedly participated in the All-Union Exhibition VDNH, where he received 4 silver and 2 bronze medals.

In 1983 he retired. Lives in the village Maslyanino .
