John Phillips Cape ( November 16, 1911 - June 6, 1994 ), better known as Jack Cape or Jackie Cape, is an English footballer who played as a right-handed forward .

Football career
He began his career at the Penrith Club. From 1929 to 1930 he played for Carlisle United . In 1930 he became a player at Newcastle United . He made his debut for Newcastle on January 18, 1930 in the match against Leicester City . September 3, 1930 scored the only goal in the match against Chelsea - this match is still the record for the number of spectators at St. James Park (68 386 people). In total, he spent 53 matches for the club and scored 20 goals [1] .
In January 1934 he moved to Manchester United . He made his debut for the club on January 27, 1934 in a game against Brentford [2] . He played for the club until 1937, having played 60 matches and scoring 18 goals [3] .
In June 1937 he moved to the Queens Park Rangers club in London. He spent two seasons in the team, having played 61 matches and scoring 12 goals. Subsequently, he played for Scarborough , as well as for Carlisle United as a guest player in wartime .
