Career

Club

Stephen Reinrecht began his career in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (UHLA) as part of the St. Albert Saints club. He played in the Junior League for two seasons from 1994 to 1996. In 1996 he entered the University of Wisconsin-Madison , becoming a play for the local team. In 1998 he became the champion of the university league - WCHA . During the performance for the university team, he became the player of the year (2000), as well as the first and second star of the team.

Stephen Reinprecht was not drafted and after university in 2000, as a free agent, he signed a contract with the Los Angeles Kings National Hockey League (NHL) club. In his first season in the NHL 2000/2001 as part of the Los Angeles, along with teammate Rob Blake was exchanged at the Colorado Avalanche in 2001, where Rainprecht won the Stanley Cup . [one]

July 3, 2003 was exchanged at Calgary Flames . [2] Missed the last four months of the 2003/2004 season due to a left shoulder injury . The 2004/2005 season in the National Hockey League did not take place due to a lockout , and Rainprecht went to France , joining the Scorpions de Moulouse team. As part of the French club, he won the Magnus League , becoming the champion of France.

In the next “post-lockout” season 2005/2006, Calgary exchanged Steven Rainprecht for Arizona Coyotes with the goalkeeper Philippe Sauve on February 1, 2006, with goalkeeper Brian Boucher and striker Mike Leclerc in the opposite direction. [3]

Reinprecht played for Arizona Coyotes until the 2008/2009 season, until June 19, 2009, he was exchanged for the Florida Panthers in exchange for winger Stefan Meyer . After which the Panthers signed a contract with Stephen for three years. [4] In his second season for Florida Panthers (2010/2011), he became less and less involved in the main squad, having played only 29 meetings, while the season was nearing its end. Due to a lack of playing practice, Rainrecht was put up for draft rejection and then leased to the German club Adler Mannheim for the remainder of the season. The rental transfer took place on January 6, 2011. [5] In 18 meetings in the regular season for Mannheim, Stephen scored 13 points in the goal + pass system (4 + 9), played 6 meetings in the playoffs , scored 3 points (1 + 2), and his team reached quarter final. At the end of the season in Germany, he returned to the United States , as he still had another year of contract with Florida. [6] However, at the beginning of the 2011/2012 season he was sent to the American Hockey League (AHL) for the first time in his career. In the AHL, the Florida Panthers Farm Club, San Antonio Rampage , was based.

After playing 5 meetings for San Antonio Rampage , Rainprecht was exchanged on October 22, 2011 with striker David Booth and the 2013 Vancouver Canucks pick in the third round for veteran striker Mikael Samuelson and fighter forward Marco Sturm . [7] However, after an exchange in Vancouver, he remained playing in the AHL for the Canucks farm club, by which time it was Chicago Wolves .

In 2012, another lockout occurred in the NHL, and Stephen Reinrecht returned to Germany, signing a contract with the Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers club [8] , where he immediately became one of the club’s leading players. In the 2014/2015 season, he became the top scorer in the German Hockey League , gaining 67 points in 52 games (21 goals + 46 assists). In February 2016, he extended the agreement with Tigers for another year, until the end of the 2016/2017 season. [9]

International

In 2003, he was called to the World Cup , becoming the champion together with the Canadian national team , defeating the Swedish national team in overtime in the final with a score of 3: 2. In total, at the World Championships, Rainprecht played 8 meetings, while giving 6 assists.
