Biography
He holds a Master's degree in Advanced Studies ( DEA ) from the University of Western Paris at Nanterre-la-Défense . He also studied at the Higher Commercial School of Paris ( HEC ) and at the Higher School of Economic and Commercial Sciences ( ESSEC ) [1] .
In 1989, Le Roux began his political career, becoming deputy mayor of Épinay-sur-Seine . In 1990, the leader of the Socialist Party, Pierre Morois, appointed Le Roux as the director of the cabinet, and he remained in this position until 1992. In 1994 he became a member of the National Council of France, and since 2000 - a member of the National Bureau. Since 1995, he was responsible for social security and police issues in the Socialist Party.
In 1992-1997 - Member of the Council of the Department of Saint-Saint-Denis .
In 1995-2001 - Mayor of Épinay-sur-Seine .
Member of the French National Assembly from 11th to 14th convocation from June 12, 1997; suspended his mandate on January 6, 2017 due to government appointments. [2]
June 21, 2012 led the socialist faction of the “New Left” in the French National Assembly [3] .
In May 2015, Le Roux was included in the Russian “black lists” of European politicians who were denied entry to Russia in connection with Ukrainian events , and in an interview with Radio J linked this measure to the recent visit of Marine Le Pen to Moscow [4] .
On December 6, 2016, he was appointed Minister of the Interior of France in view of the assumption of the post of Prime Minister Bernard Kaznev [5] .
On March 21, 2017, the launched an investigation into the disclosure of the fact that Bruno Le Roux employed his daughters as parliamentary assistants from 2009 to 2016 (in 2009, the daughters were 15 and 16 years old, in total, they 55 thousand euros were paid), and at 6 pm local time, Le Roux resigned [6] .
On April 22, 2017, he returned to his former seat in the French National Assembly.
On May 9, 2017, Le Roux announced that he did not intend to run for the parliamentary elections in June 2017 , explaining his decision with family and personal reasons. Instead, Yannick Trigance became the official candidate of the Socialist Party in the 1st arrondissement of the department of Saint-Saint-Denis, replacing Le Roux in the National Assembly while he worked in the government [7] .
