Biography
He was born on February 4, 1969 in Podgorica to the Orthodox parents of Radul Boyovich and Zorka, nee Jovanovic. He was the fifth child in the family. He graduated from the eight-year and high school in Danilovgrad in 1987 [1] .
In the same year he left to serve in the army. Military service took place in the Serbian (western) Karlovac [1] .
Upon returning from the army in 1988, he entered the Natural Mathematics Department of the University of Montenegro in Podgorica [2] . In 1993, he entered graduate school at the Faculty of Natural Mathematics in Belgrade, in the group "Differential Geometry and Topology". On July 17, 1996, he defended his master's The Group of Holonomy and Complex Luck, written under the direction of Neda Bokan [1] .
From 1993 to 2000 he worked as an assistant at the Faculty of Natural Mathematics in Podgorica. During this period of his life, Milan Boyovich was also a member of the church council of the parish in Podgorica [2] .
In 1998-1999 he studied at the graduate school at Moscow State University . M.V. Lomonosov [3] .
At the end of 2000, she quit her job at the faculty in Podgorica and, with the blessing of the Metropolitan of Montenegro-Primorsky Amphilochius (Radovic), enrolled as a novice in the Cetinje Monastery [2] . By his own admission, “I became a monk due to what is happening there with our people: I thought about our troubles, felt that I had to do something” [3] .
On July 11, 2004, Metropolitan Amfilohij was tonsured a monk with the name Cyril in honor of Equal-to-the-Apostles Cyril, the teacher of Slovenia . In the same year he was ordained hierodeacon .
In 2005 he entered the Moscow Theological Academy [2] . According to my own recollections: “I met people at the Academy, I now have Russian friends here who are such wonderful people, they understand me like that ... I really like it when they talk about me, they say about us, they say“ brother Serb “ , “Brothers Serbs”, and I answer them “ mother Russia ”. We became friends, lived together for almost three years in a very good relationship. I got acquainted with Russian history, Russian culture, which is very close to ours ” [3] .
May 21, 2006 in the Cetinje Monastery, Metropolitan Amphilochius was ordained to the rank of hieromonk [4] .
In June-July of the same year he accompanied the right hand of St. John the Baptist, which was transported to the cities of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus for more than 40 days [2] .
In 2008 he graduated from the Moscow Theological Academy, defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of theology on the theme "Metropolitan Peter II Petrovich Negosh as a Christian philosopher."
In the same year he returned to his homeland, where he began to bear the obedience of the editor-in-chief of the Svetigora magazine of the Montenegrin-Primorsky Metropolis and the coordinator of religious education in the theological schools of the metropolis [2] .
Since January 1, 2009, according to the decision of the Synod of Bishops of December 16, 2008, he served as a teacher at the Seminar of St. Peter of Cetinje in Cetinje . In the same year he was appointed professor at the seminary of St. Peter of Cetinje, where he taught the Holy Scriptures of the New Testament [1] .
On January 3, 2010, in the Cetinj monastery, Metropolitan Amphilochius was elevated to the rank of protosinkella [5] .
June 30, 2013 in the Cathedral Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Podgorica, Metropolitan Amphilochius was elevated to the rank of Archimandrite [6] .
On December 15, 2014, he was appointed deputy ruling bishop in the diocese of Buenos Aires, South and Central America of the Serbian Orthodox Church, led by Metropolitan Amphilochius of Montenegro and Primorsky [2] .
On May 26, 2016, by the decision of the Council of Bishops, he was elected vicar bishop of the Montenegrin-Primorsky Metropolis with the title Bishop of Dioclius [7]
On July 31 of the same year, in the cathedral church of the Resurrection of Christ in Podgorica, Montenegro, his episcopal consecration took place, performed by: Patriarch of Serbia Irenaeus, Metropolitan of Skopian John (Wraniskowski) and Montenegrin Amphilochius (Radovic) , bishop of British Scandinavian, Scandinavian Dalmatian Photius (Sladoevich) , Bishop of Budimlyansko-Niksic Ioannicius (Michovic) , Bishop of Zakholmsky-Herzigovinsky Grigory (Durich) , Bishop of Pozhsko-Kumanovsky Ioakim (Jovichesky) , Bishop of Rashko-Prizrensky Theodosius (Shibali) the Slavonian archbishop John (Chulibrk) , the Bishop of Frankfurt, Sergius (Karanovich) and the Bishop of Jäger, Jerome (Uchevich) [8] .
On May 10, 2018, by the decision of the Council of Bishops, he was appointed Bishop of Buenos Aires and South Central America [9] .
September 2, 2018 in the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Buenos Aires, his intronization took place. Metropolitan Amphilochius (Radovic) [10] , led by the bishops of other local Orthodox churches: Metropolitan Ignatius of Argentina and South America (Pologrudov) , Mexican Archbishop Alexis (Pacheco-Vera) , Bishop of Caracas and South American ( American ) , led the meeting.
