History

The Russian name of the river is derived from the name of the city of Nazran ( Ingush. Nyasare ), through whose territory it flows. The name of the city, in turn, comes from the original name of the river - Nyasar .

A number of scientists identify the Nazranka River (Nyasar) with the Naya River, mentioned in various chronicle vaults [3] as a landmark for the disappeared medieval Alanian city of Dadakov [4] [5] .

A group of monuments representing the Mousterian era is located along the banks of the Nazranka and Sunzha rivers. These are the same type of monuments represented by the locations. The first Paleolithic monuments of this kind were discovered in 1961 by V.P. Lyubin in the vicinity of the villages of Nasyr-Kort and Gamurzievo [6] . The materials of the monument were attributed to the period of about 40 thousand BC. e. It was also found that the tools found in Gamurzievo were made from local breeds. In this area, during the Moustier era, there was a small workshop for processing stone [7] .

In 1781, Leonti Shteder wrote about the Nazranka River, on the banks of which there are several ancient settlements that were part of the Magas ancient settlement system, that it has clean spring water, a marshy bottom and swampy banks covered with reeds and shrubs, and that the river can only be crossed where there was a ford [8] [9] .
