Tsimlyansk District Museum of Local Lore

The museum was founded on February 16, 1998 ^[1] . In the initial period of its creation, the museum collected materials on the military and labor glory of Tsimlyansk district. Currently, in the collection of funds, special attention is paid to archaeological sites and exhibits illustrating the history of the village of Tsimlyanskaya, reflecting the life and customs of the local population.

All museum exhibits are combined into six collections: “Archeology”, “Material sources” (metal, wood, glass, ceramics, fabric, stone, plastic, zoological and botanical materials, anthropological collections), “Graphic sources” (painting, graphics) , icons, sculpture), “Numismatics” (coins, orders, medals, tokens, signs, plaques, treasures, stamps, paper money), “Weapons” (cold and firearms), “Written sources” (handwritten and printed documents, rare books, photographs, postcards).

As of the beginning of 2017, the museum fund consists of 5437 museum objects that reflect the history of the village of Tsimlyanskaya, the city of Tsimlyansk, the creation of the Tsimlyansk hydroelectric station , the evolution of the Great Steppe . Every year the museum receives more than 9 thousand visitors ^{[2] [3] [4]} . The museum participates in the annual " Night of the Museums " ^{[5] [6]} campaign, and various exhibitions are regularly held there ^{[7] [8] [9]} .
