History
In 1866, residents of the Bokov farm bought in the village of Efremovo-Stepanovka , the estate of the army chieftain S. D. Efremov (1753-1772) [1] , the wooden structure of the church was transported and installed in his farm.
The assembled purchased boardwalk temple without a bell tower was surrounded by a stone fence. In 1868-1869, the roof and the dome of the temple were covered with sheet metal, a bell tower was added. The temple with buildings at the beginning of the 20th century was formed by the temple complex, which included: a two-room guardhouse with two rooms, a brick four-room church parish school, a brick shed, a well-maintained well. A house was built nearby. The church clergy included three priests, a deacon and three psalm-worshipers.
In 1920, lightning hit the temple; a fire occurred in the temple, destroying the building. Over the next long years, the farm did not have its own temple.
After the war, a house was bought under the temple. After the arrangement of the house, services were held in it. In 1989, before it was rebuilt as a temple, domes appeared in it. In 2000, a bell tower was built near the temple.
The church honors holy icons brought by parishioners from pilgrimage trips to Athos monasteries. In 2002, the image of the Mother of God “Iverskaya” was kept in the church.
The temple is gradually being built: in 2010, repairs were carried out in it, the domes were gilded, in 2013 a church shop was added to the bell tower, and in 2015, a parish building was built.
