Description

The body length of the working individuals is 8.77–9.73 mm, the width of the head is 1.68–1.81 mm (length – 2.25–2.24 mm), the length of the scape (SL) is 2.74–2, 96 mm. The main body color is black (belly and legs are lighter, reddish-brown). On pronotum two large shoulder spikes directed forward. Petiole also has two long spikes pointing up and back, as well as two short lateral spines. The ratio of the length of the antenna scape to the width of the head (scape index, SI = SL / HW × 100) is 161–169. The ratio of the width and length of the head (CI) among workers - 73-77. Petiole width (PTW) - 1.26-1.36 mm, length of the middle tibia (MTL) - 3.12-3.48 mm. The taxon belongs to the subgenus Myrma and the group of Polyrhachis (Myrma) relucens species group. The species was first described in 2008 by Australian Mirmecologist Rudolf Kohout ( Rudolf J. Kohout ; Queensland Museum , Brisbane , Australia ). The specific name is given in honor of M. Brendell ( MJD Brendell ), who collected specimens [1] [2] .
