Love Commandos is an Indian voluntary non-profit organization that helps couples in love avoid stalking and “ honor killings ”. The organization provides housing, legal assistance and protection to those in love who wish to marry by mutual consent and love, but are subject to persecution by society or dissatisfied relatives [1] [2] .

Overview
In India, most marriages are organized by parents with potential marriage partners based on caste , color, horoscope , etc. - the issue of love is rarely considered [2] . Love through the barriers of caste, religion and the economic class can be problematic, which leads to violence, and sometimes to murder. It is known that the police refuses to protect such couples, sometimes even arresting their lovers with parents for false rape charges [1] .
The Commando of Love consists of journalists, businessmen, lawyers and human rights defenders. They run secret shelters for couples where they can stay until they become financially independent. They also help interested couples register their marriage.
