History

Knyazhensky Farm belonged to the yurt of the Kepinskaya village of the Ust-Medveditsk District of the Land of the Don Cossacks (from 1870 - the Don Cossack District ). In 1859, 80 men and 86 women lived on the farm [2] . According to the 1897 population census , 231 men and 220 women lived on the farm, of which literate: men - 54, women - 4 [3] .

According to the alphabetical list of populated areas of the Don Cossack Army Region in 1915, there was farm management in the farm, 293 men and 227 women lived, and the allotment of land shared with the village [4] .

In 1928, the Kniazhenskiy farm was included in the Mikhailovsky District of the Khopyorsk District (abolished in 1930) of the Lower Volga Territory (since 1934, the Stalingrad Territory ). At the time of the formation of the district, the farm was the center of the 2nd Knyazhensky Village Council. In accordance with the decision of the Presidium of the regional executive committee of October 31, 1928 Protocol No. 7, the resolution of the Lower Volga Regional Administrative Commission of December 8, 1928 Protocol No. 5 to Knyazha II village council was attached to the Knyazhinsky I village council. The village council became Knyazhensky [5] . In 1960, No. 15/471 §30, the Princely and Ilmensky village councils were abolished with the transfer of their territory to the composition of the Archedinsky village council [6] .

In 2012, the farm was included in the composition of the urban district of the town of Mikhailovka [7]

Geography

The farm is located in the steppe, within the Volga Upland , which is part of the East European Plain , on the Knyazhnya River (right tributary of the Bear River ). The height of the center of the village about 90 meters above sea level. The slopes of the valley Princess cut beams and ravines. The height of the hills nearby to the farm reaches 140-150 meters above sea level [8] . Soils - southern chernozems [9] .

On the farm there are no paved roads. The Mikhailovka - Kumylzhenskaya highway is 7 km away. By road, the distance to the district center of the town of Mikhailovka is 29 km, to the regional center of the city of Volgograd - 210 km [10] .

The climate is temperate continental (according to the Köppen climate classification - Dfa ). The multi-year average rainfall is 421 mm. The greatest amount of precipitation falls in June - 49 mm, the smallest in February - 22 mm. The average annual temperature is positive and is + 7.2 ° С, the average temperature in the coldest month of January is −8.8 ° С, the hottest month of July is +22.4 ° С [11] .
