Museum History
The museum was opened on December 27, 1969 by decision of the District Council of Workers' Deputies [1] . At the initial stage, participants of the Great Patriotic War A.M. Rudenko and V.A. Biryulin made a great contribution to the creation and establishment of the museum. A poster has been preserved in the archive with an appeal from the Council of the District Museum to the citizens of Kashar District to assist in the collection of exhibits: documents, photographs, old books, newspapers, tools, household items.
Currently, the main fund of the museum is 1169 items. It contains:
- local history material on the history of the formation of villages and farms in the Kashar region;
- household items of residents of the district;
- material on the occupation of the area during the Great Patriotic War, on participants in the Great Patriotic War, Heroes of the Soviet Union;
- material about the admiral of the Northern and Baltic Fleets I. M. Kapitanets , a native of Kashar district;
- materials about the Civil War ( F. G. Podtelkov , M. V. Krivoshlykov );
- materials about workers in agriculture, livestock, education, medicine.
Since April 2009, the museum has been included in a single database of museums in the Russian Federation. Since May 9, 2009 the museum is located in a new building [2] [3] .
In 2016, 22 museum items were included in the non-state part of the Museum Fund of the Russian Federation [4] .

Address
The museum is located at: Rostov region, Kashar district, sl. Kashary, st. Lenin, d. 62, in the northern wing of the first floor of the four-story building of Kashar secondary school [5] . Until 2009, it was located at: st. Komsomolskaya, d. 43, in the building of the military registration and enlistment office.
