The house is located in the central historical part of the city. It is known that at the end of the 19th century it was already built, since in January 1899 Ekaterina Petrovna Lyakhmaer became its owner, and another property also became its property. Their total area was 940 square meters. On the plot she built a four-story house, which received the address Kankrinskaya, 70/9, Bolshoy Alley. In July 1900, it was reported that the sanitary committee found the Lächmaer estate unsafe for the sanitary and epidemiological condition of the city and considered it necessary to close all the apartments in the house, and people who rent housing there would need to move to other apartments. The guests nevertheless remained in the house, but the cleaning was organized at the site, and the owner of the estate had to pay a fine of 15 rubles and another 40 rubles as cleaning costs. The annual profit from home was 1030 rubles. In April 1907, some actions were carried out with this property. Lawyer in charge of Yekaterina Lyakhmaer was a lawyer Chernikov, he sold the apartment building for 30 thousand rubles to landowner Anna Yashchenkova, she in turn laid the house to the same lawyer Chernikov and merchant Tokarev.
