Career
She started taking part in international starts in 2005 . In 2007 she became a triumph of the home world championship, which took place in Altenmarkt . There she won gold medals in the super giant and giant slalom, became the second in combination and the third in downhill. A few days after the end of the championship, she made her World Cup debut at the stage in the Swiss Lenzerheide , where she immediately scored cup points, showing 14th place in the super giant and 18th in the giant slalom.
In 2008, at the junior world championships, Schmidhofer did not win medals (the best place is 9 in the super giant), and in 2009 at a similar tournament she became a bronze medalist in downhill skiing.
In 2010, the Austrian joined the Austrian Olympic team at the Games in Vancouver . There she took part only in the super giant , where she could not get to the finish line.
In January 2013, Schmidhofer entered the podium for the first time in his World Cup stage, becoming the second in the super giant in Cortina d'Ampezzo . This allowed her to join the national team for the home world championship , where she showed 11th place in the same discipline. The Austrian won the second podium at the same stage a year later, becoming the third in the downhill. In 2015, at the World Cup in the United States, she stopped a step away from the downhill medal.
At the 2017 World Championships in Switzerland , Schmidhofer, who did not have top-level victories, quite unexpectedly won a gold medal in the first form of the program - in the supergiant , bypassing the Liechtenstein skier Tina Wairater for 0.33 seconds.
At the stage of the World Cup 2018/2019 in Canadian Lake Louise, on the downhill track, an Austrian athlete, for the first time in her career, won two victories immediately on November 30 and December 1 [1] .
