Biography
Born on August 5, 1942 .
Studied at the University of Hamburg , graduated in 1969 with a master's degree in science. In 1973 she received a doctorate in natural sciences .
Since 1970, she taught as an assistant professor at the Institute of General Botany at the University of Hamburg. From 1982 to 2007 she taught plant taxonomy.
She was engaged in the study of the flora of South Africa, most of the work was systematics and phylogeny by Aiza . Repeatedly traveled to South Africa (in particular, Namibia), collecting plant samples. She also went on botanical expeditions to Argentina, Mexico, and the southwestern part of the USA. She studied herbarium specimens stored in Finland, Sweden, England, and China.
In 2001, she published a two-volume monograph of the Aizov family from a series of books on succulent plants.
Died July 11, 2016 after a long illness.
