Biography
Born in the family of a land reclamation engineer and school teacher.
In 1960 he graduated from the music school in Vladikavkaz, in 1965 - the Saratov Conservatory with the qualification “conductor of the folk instrument orchestra, teacher of special disciplines and concert performer”.
Later he taught a special cycle of subjects in musical educational institutions:
- 1960-1965 - teacher of a music school in Saratov,
- 1965-1968 - Lecturer in the music school of Ordzhonikidze,
- 1968-1970 - Lecturer at the Krasnodar State Institute of Culture,
- 1970-1974 - Lecturer at the Rostov State Music and Pedagogical Institute,
- 1974-1980 - Lecturer at the Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute of Arts,
- 1980-2000 - Head of the Department of Orchestra Conducting and Folk Instruments of the Perm State Institute of Art and Culture .
In 1989, he was awarded the academic title of assistant professor in the department of orchestral conducting, in 1994 - the academic title of professor in the department of orchestral conducting.
He trained more than 100 students who lead orchestras and ensembles of folk instruments and teach at music educational institutions in Russia and abroad. Mazhmud Mommadov is the chief conductor of the Turkmen Opera.
He actively participated in All-Union, republican, regional, interuniversity conferences, symposia, meetings. Consisting of the Ural branch of psychologists, published works on the problems of musical memory.
The initiator of the creation of the first professional orchestra of Russian folk instruments in Perm, today it is the Perm Regional Philharmonic Orchestra , for 30 years - the conductor and permanent artistic director of the collective.
On his initiative, in 1995 the festival "Russian Fantasy" was held for the first time, which has become a traditional regional competition.
