The military town of Klin-9 was founded at the turn of the late 1950s and early 1960s on the territory of the Klinsky district of the Moscow Region , and was part of the Moscow missile defense system [1] . The town was built up with typical 4-storey brick and 5-storey panel houses .

The population of the town is mainly former employees of the disbanded military unit 12517 and a small part of the current employees with their families, as well as the neighboring disbanded military unit 07145. Postal code: 141609 . A bus runs to the town along route No. 40 “ Klin- Zhilsector (Klin-9)” [2] convoy No. 1792 . Near the town there are two picturesque lakes, built as fire ponds by soldiers of the Soviet Army and an open shooting range ; former positions of S -25 air defense systems ; disbanded separate missile defense center (military unit 27905); in Soviet times, the sports sector was developed.

Location
The town is located in the central part of the district , at the southeastern edge of the city of Klin , 4 km east of the M10 "Russia" highway . The nearest settlements are the cities of Klin , Akatievo , and Furrow . The distance to the railway station Klin is 9 km, to the Moscow Ring Road 70 km, to Tver 88 km, to the nearest airport ( Sheremetevo ) about 71 km.

Current State
According to the data for 2014, a number of life support and engineering facilities of the former military camp are in unsatisfactory condition [4] : roads are broken, insufficient street lighting, not well-groomed territory. There is also a positive trend: the kindergarten has been modernized [5] , a new playground has been built in the town [6] , the Voentorg store has been reconstructed and re-opened together with the Pyaterochka chain [7] . In the town there are: the Yunost school [8] , the Russian Post department, the Sberbank of Russia branch, and the wooden Orthodox church [9] .
