Distribution
South America ( Brazil , Suriname , Trinidad) [3] .
Description
Relatively large chalcidoid riders, length from 6 to 15 mm (females are larger). The main coloration is black, with several orange-yellow marks on the scape of the antennae, chest, abdomen and legs. The wings are darkened. Hind legs with thickened and strongly curved hips and legs. Antennae 13-segmented. The mandibular palps are 4-segmented, the lower labial palps composed of 3 segments [3] .
Biology
Bee ectoparasitoids Xylocopa submordax ( Xylocopa , Apoidea ) [3] .
Systematics
It is included in the species group Leucospis hopei , in which the clypeus has a middle fine tooth, mandibles with a small triangular notch, pronotum with premarginal keel. It was first described in 1874, and its valid status was confirmed during an audit conducted in 1974 by British hymenopterologist of Czech origin Zdenek Bouček (1924-2011) [3] .
