Description

Relatively large chalcidoid riders, the length of the females is 8 mm. The main color is black, with a metallic sheen and a few lemon-yellow marks on the muscap scape, chest, abdomen and legs. Wings darkened. Hind legs with thick and strongly curved thighs and lower legs. Antennae 13-segmented. The mandibular palpi 4-segmented, lower labial palpi consists of 3 segments [1] .

Biology

Marked from May to October. Presumably, like other species of its kind, Vespidae ectoparasitoids [1] .

Systematics

Included in the species group Leucospis pediculata , whose cheeks are short and converging, pronotum convex. It was first described in 1974 by the British hymenterterologist of Czech origin, Zdenek Boucek (Zdenĕk Bouček, 1924-2011) and named after J. Sedlacek ( Honolulu ), a collector of the type series [1] .
