At the I Winter Olympics of 1924, military patrol competitions were held as demonstration ones, however, later the participants of these competitions were awarded sets of medals. The competition took place on January 29, 1924 from 8:40 to 13:15 hours local time. Due to bad weather conditions, only four out of six teams were able to finish the race. The rest were forced to withdraw from the competition.
