Biography

Jordan learned to play the piano at the age of 5, then he continued his musical education, including engaging in mixing compositions. In 1986, he created the Celebrate the Nun team with H.P. Baxter .

Rick Jordan was responsible for all aspects of Scooter sound. As an experienced musician who knows the theory of classical music, he even created a virtual symphony orchestra . The diversity of Jordan allowed the Scooter group to experiment in various musical genres, mixing rock , classical music , Celtic motifs and much more with dance music. In addition, the voice of Rick in a pitched version can be heard in many hits of the group.

Regarding the creative process at Scooter, Rick speaks as follows:

He ( H.P. Baxter ) comes up with crazy ideas, and then we look at how you can build a joint composition. I try to sort out “creative chaos” and add my own ideas to the production process.

On August 21, 2007, a daughter was born to Rick and Nicole, who was named Keira.

Leaving Scooter

On October 15, 2013, Rick Jordan announced his retirement from the Scooter group [4] . This became known thanks to the official press release of the group. Rick played his final concert with the former Scooter on January 24, 2014 as part of the Scooter anniversary tour dedicated to the band's 20th anniversary. In the recording of the new album of Scooter, which was recorded during 2013 and is expected in the spring of 2014, did not participate.

Here's how Rick himself said about his departure from the group:

After twenty fantastic years of hardcore, I realized that it was time for me to try something new in music, and I also want to spend more time with my family and friends.

- Press release on the official Scooter website

After the farewell anniversary tour of the Scooter group, at the end of January 2014, in one interview, he admitted that leaving the group was connected not only for family reasons. He decided to leave due to the fact that Jens Tele together with H. P dictated his rules to him, and he does not see the future with the Scooter group. He is no longer going to write commercial music and wants to do more interesting directions for him. In particular, to write something alternative rock or chill out, and also wants to try himself in writing advertisements for television. He has nothing against modern dance music, but new trends in the dance culture do not inspire him to create his own compositions.

On stage, he uses Roland equipment, in particular the main synthesizer Roland Fantom X 8, drum machines Akai, as well as Apple laptops. Assembles classic analog equipment. Recently, he worked in the studio in the program Ableton Live [5] .

Creativity after 2014

Since 2016, Rick Jordan created a joint project with composer and pianist Alexander Raichev , a native of Bulgaria, living in Hamburg. In their work, the authors combine elements of classical and electronic music. Also, to create compositions, they attract other performers of classical music [6] . In 2017, their joint album Postclassicalelectro [7] was released .
