Sports career
Skoog began his career in the youth teams of the Khovos and Vestra Frölund clubs. In 1991, he made his debut as a striker in the main team of the Fraunda Vestra club in Allsvenskan . In 1995, with 17 goals, he became the top scorer, and the next summer moved to Duisburg from the Bundesliga . After two game seasons in 1998, he moved to Nuremberg, but there did not succeed, and the club flew to the Second Bundesliga. After that, Skoog returned to Sweden, to the Örebro team.
In the summer of 2001, Skoog moved to Malmo, which was looking for a replacement for the sold Zlatan Ibrahimovic . In 2003, for the second time, Skoog became the top scorer of the Swedish championship, but with 22 goals. A year later, he won the Swedish title with the team. In the 2005 and 2006 seasons, Skoog rarely came out due to injuries, in the 2007 season he came out more often and scored five goals in 16 matches. However, he infrequently made it to the starting lineup and after 10 games in the Swedish championship in August he was leased to Mielby from the second league ( Superettan ) [1] . His debut took place on August 4, 2008 in a match against Wesby United (defeat 3-0). Skoog spent five more games that season, and the team took 8th place in the 2nd league. After completing the lease, he returned to Malmö, but in March 2009 ended his playing career [2] .
Skoog played eight matches for the Swedish national team and 14 matches for the youth national team [3] .
Beyond Football
On August 25, 2011, an episode of the Swedish show “Fångarna på fortet” (the Swedish version of the show “Fort Boyard”) was released, in which Skoog appeared in the national team of football stars with Magnus Hedman , Ixel Osmanowski and Robert Pruce . The team was defeated by the NHL star team ( Yunas Gustavsson , Louis Ericsson , Karl Gunnarsson and Matthias Tedenby ).
