Magic system

The group was founded in 1996 by several young people from the Marcory district on the Ivory Coast (the city of Abidjan , the modern name of the country in Russian is Côte d'Ivoire ). The group began its career, speaking at parties in the native quarter and the surrounding area. Their energetic performances created a certain reputation for them and attracted the attention of talent seeker Claude Bassole, thanks to whose help the group released its first album in 1997. The album was called Papitou , the song “Momo” came out of it as a single and became a hit throughout Côte d'Ivoire ^[1] .

Then the group fell silent for some time, but then, when two years after the first one returned with the album 1er Gaou , it sold in two thousand weeks in two weeks ^[1] .

Soon the group became known throughout Africa. Her albums were sold in Africa in more than 1 million copies even before she became popular in France ^[1] .

At first, the group was heard in France and the French Caribbean due to the distribution of their music by NextMusic, and in 2001, simultaneously with the release of the new Poisson d'Avril album, which became very popular in Africa and the Caribbean, a remix of their old hit produced by Bob Sinclair was released in France " 1er Gaou. " The song became a big hit in France, radio stations played it very actively. It is believed that this was the most popular song in Africa from France in recent (by that time) 15 years ^[1] .
