Michele De Pietro ( Italian: Michele De Pietro ; February 26, 1884 - October 7, 1967) - Italian lawyer and politician, minister of pardon and justice (1954).

Biography
He received a law degree, was engaged in legal practice. In the rank of infantry captain, he participated in hostilities on the Italian front of the First World War (1915-1918). He did not accept the establishment of a fascist regime , was persecuted and in 1942 was arrested. Subsequently, he participated in the partisan movement , joined the Italian Liberal Party . In 1945 he was appointed to the interim legislative body - the National Conference ( Consulta Nazionale ). In 1946 he joined the Christian Democratic Party [1] .
On April 18, 1948, he was elected from the Apulia to the Italian Senate of the first convocation of the republican period, on June 7, 1953 he was re-elected to the Senate of the second convocation and retained his mandate until the expiration of his term in 1958.
For several weeks, from January 18 to February 10, 1954, he was Minister of Clemency and Justice in the first Fanfani government.
On July 2, 1959, he was elected by the quota of parliament to the Supreme Council of Magistracy .
From 1958 to 1967 he headed the National Center for Prevention and Social Protection.
He died after several months of illness on October 7, 1967 in his house in Lecce .
