The whole street runs through the Central district of Barnaul, from VDNH to the Zmeinogorsk tract . The length is 2.3 km. Width ranges from 70 to 3 meters. Most of Avanesova Street is divided by the boulevard along which tram tracks run .
Street Name
Avanesova Street has repeatedly changed its name. In the city plan of 1899, it was recorded as Bolshaya Zmeevskaya, and in 1912, at the request of the residents, the street was renamed Troitskaya, after the name of the Trinity Church, located in the Nagorny part of the city.
In 1927, the street was named in honor of the Soviet statesman N. G. Avanesov [1] .
Monuments of history and architecture
30 - The building of the former Upland school. It was built in 1886 at the expense of the Society for the Care of Primary Education of Barnaul Vasily Konstantinovich Shtilke , wooden and one-story. A Sunday school for adults has been working here since 1897 .
132 - Former city school named after 300th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty. A two-story brick building was built in 1909 , and in 1920 a school named after him was opened here. Comintern.
In addition, the Trinity Church was located on the site of the destroyed building of the Altai cinema, built in Soviet times.
