Club career

Abade is a pupil of the Lance club. In 2011, scouts of the English Newcastle United noticed him and invited him to the team. The first two seasons, Mehdi received very little game practice. In the English League Cup match against Nottingham Forrest , he made his debut for the first team. At the beginning of 2013, Abade transferred to the Scottish St. Johnstone on a rental basis to receive gaming practice. On February 11, in his match against Hibernian , he made his debut in the Scottish Premier League. [2] In the summer of that year, Mehdi, on loan, moved to the Greek Panathinaikos . On August 18, in his match against Panetolikos , he made his debut in the Greek Super League [3] . On August 31, in a duel against Veria , Abeid scored his first goal for Panathinaikos [4] . In 2014, he helped the club win the Greek Cup .

In the summer of 2014, Abade returned to Newcastle. On November 1, in a match against Liverpool , he made his debut in the English Premier League. [5] In the summer of 2015, the Mehdi transfer was purchased by Panathinaikos. At the end of the season, he helped the club take second place.

In the summer of 2016, Abade returned to France, signing a contract with the Dijon club. On October 25, in a match against Bastia , he made his debut in League 1 [6] . On November 26, in a duel against Bordeaux , Mehdi scored his first goal for Dijon [7] .

International Career

Abeid was born in France and played for the youth teams of the country. In 2009, as part of the youth team, he took part in the European Youth Championship in Germany . In 2011, Mehdi decided to speak for his historic homeland of Algeria. On June 13, 2015, in his Africa Cup qualifier against the Seychelles national team, he made his debut for the Algerian national team .

In 2017, Abeid took part in the African Cup of Nations in Gabon . At the tournament, he played in a match against the national team of Tunisia [8] .
